False Hope

I hear the birds sing
An April song
As they watch white mountains
on the gardens
Slowly become
 powdered sugar-coated pancakes

I open my eyes
And spring toward the window

And then I remember...

It's January.

And once again
I'm frozen.

  1. It is never good to wish your life away, but if you are so inclined, this is a step in the right direction.

  2. That's when "dancing with vodka" would be a great help! Keep the spirit warm and help embrace the cold. I believe Spring is my favorite time of year. Everything seems to come back to life. Nice poem! I'm glad I stumbled my way to your blog. Chris
